Luftkurort Jonsdorf , to give it its proper name, is at the heart of the border triangle - Germany - Poland - the Czech Republic.
Being part of the holiday region Oberlausitzer Bergland, the Zittauer Gebirge mountain range (the shortest, but for us the most beautiful low mountain range in Germany) provides an ideal location for hiking in the summer or a skiing holiday in the winter.
Situated between Dresden and Prague directly on the border, Jonsdorf is family-friendly holiday destination with something to offer all year round. The area's typical Umgebindehäuser (half-timbered houses) give our village an even more chocolate-box look. Stunning, untouched nature directly on the doorstep.
For steam railway enthusiasts we have the Zittauer Schmalspurbahn (narrow-gauge railway) taking guests and locals alike between Zittau, Oybin and Jonsdorf. Jonsdorf's tropical butterfly house, the nearby solarheated open-air swimming pool, climbing on the local via ferrata, bike and ski-rental, mini golf and much more mean most people leave with more to do on their return.
The nearest large town, Zittau, offers plenty of interesting sites and things to do. The world-famous Fastentücher (Lenten Veils), impressive town hall and beautiful market square among others. Or travel further north for a day-trip to visit the stunning town of Görlitz (often described as Germany's most beautiful town).
